Fill in the Bubbles!

8/22/2008:
As many of you probably already know, Fridays on Hoboken411 are typically more fun, and this is one of the “Friday Fun” entries today:
Fill in the Bubbles!
As Mayor Roberts continues to smash the record for mug shots on the City Website, here’s a look at the latest entry:
W Hotel Advanced Team Visits City Hall
“Mayor Roberts (center) and Community Development Director Fred Bado (right) greeted members of the advanced team for the new W Hotel which is scheduled to open in February. The W Hotel sent representatives from Marketing and Sales, Catering, and Business Travel.”
I threw a couple suggested “thought” bubbles up there, but what do you surmise they were really thinking?

“How’s he holding up the helmet without putting his hands underneath it? Oh God…EW!”

I think there is an error (shocking) in the city website’s headline (repeated here). I’m guessing the ladies are part of the W Hotel “Advance Team”, not the “Advanced Team”.

What a — a….weird picture.
“Okay, so let’s all stand around a helmet. And everyone put one hand on the helmet. And man with the giant arm. You stand on the end so you block everyone else.”

Mayor Roberts is used to getting his helmet polished by developer types.
Anyway:
Girl 1st right: “Eww…sweaty hands!”
Girl 2nd right: “Do I need to pick up the kids from soccer or is Sergio doing that?”
Girl on left: “No, I will NOT love you long time.”

Don’t you know? The helmet is his personal Ouija planchette. Each of the 5 people there represent specific letters. And the empty balloons are what they spell out. Can you guess which letter the planchette moves in on most?

Purple dress: Why do I have to stand next to him? Hope this doesn’t get on the internet.
Turquoise smock: Damn I got body blocked.
Black dress: Beige 80s pantsuit…70s smock…Why am I the only one appropriately dressed in W Hotel attire?

I just think it’s amazing how the Mayor takes some kind of credit for the W Hotel. The hotel happened in spite of Hoboken, but not because Hoboken courted the W Hotel and has some claim to fame.
