WSJ: Ferry or PATH?
Today, the Wall Street Journal posted an article titled “The Commuter Ferry Is Nice. I Take the Train,” in which reporter Neal Templin discusses the aesthetic and financial differences between the PATH and the NY Waterway Ferry.
While Neal tried to find out if people chose the PATH over the Ferry because they might be “cheapskates,” he missed one major point that goes into the decision making process: Location.
I for one always took the ferry to Manahattan when I worked there, because it was simply closer to where I lived in Hoboken (on top of being a more beautiful “above ground” commute.) The other half of the equation is the location in NYC. Often times, the PATH may take riders right to the doorstep of their job.
What do you take?
