Hoboken City Hall Graffiti

8/14/2008:

At a recent marathon city council meeting, I had to use the restroom.

What did I see as I “took care of business?”

It appears that (what I would think was) a city employee wrote “Bergin” with their ball-point pen directly above the urinal. Classy!

I wonder how Bill Bergin felt about it?

It’s almost as clever as, “Why are you reading the wall? The joke is in your hand!”

I write stuff all the time, but it always vanishes down the drain.

But what’s the backstory “Bergin” signature? Is he telling the dude to piss off? Or making a political statement that the city is flushing the people down the sewer?

Maybe as Public Safety Officer he gets a urinal named after him.
