HUMC wants your money!

7/28/2008:

How many of you received this expensive, well-produced pamphlet in the mail recently?

I’m sure many hospitals might receive donations from appreciative patients, but I’m not sure I feel too comfortable with this. I thought HUMC was “doing great?” Why are they siphoning asking for more money?

They say the money you donate can help:

  • Support the new emergency department. What about that $52 million dollar bond? Not enough?
  • Support the annual fund. By allowing “investment in the latest technology, wellness programs, and community outreach…” Oh, you might have forgotten “our wallets” on that list!

Well, the first 20-30 grand they receive will cover the cost of those fliers… then where does the rest go? Are you donating?

Donate? Are they nuts? Everytime one of us is treated there we donate. Apparently there never was a miraculous recovery, my husband is an employee who just had to give up 6% of his salary and uniform allowance. Isn’t that a donation?

Folks, this has nothing to do with raising money, the budget, or the deficit. I strongly suspect that this is a means for funneling illicit proceeds, money laundering, and cooking the books. The brochures/requests for donations that were sent out is a smokescreen, a rodeo clown to distract everyone from this vehicle’s true purpose.

Might I remind you all that money laundering is a federal, not a state, offense.

Beth Mason, Hoboken 411, and all other remaining citizens seeking the truth, I beg you…follow the money.
