Costs more to wash your drawers

7/25/2008:

The previous article mentions lower energy & fuel costs.

However, one laundromat in town increased prices by almost 20% recently! A large load in the washing machine now costs $6.50!

One Hoboken411 reader asked:

“What happens when energy prices come back down? Will the laundromat owner lower the prices again? I think not!”

Does anyone really believe that energy prices will be going down again?? When was the last time you saw a reduction in your gas and electric rate? Unless you know a laundromat that is running on gasoline, get a grip on reality and realize that everything will be going up in a down economy. It is unrealistic to think that the price of ice cream will be going down when the price of milk goes down or that a box of cereal will be lower if grain prices fall. Prices don’t go down and I would suspect that you would be adverse to a reduction in salary if your boss justified it by telling you the cost of living has decreased – WAKE UP AND SMELL THE INFLATION!
