Gas prices falling

7/25/2008:

What bad economy?

hoboken-gas-prices-lowering.jpgSeems like energy prices across the board have taken a significant turn for the for the better. Oil, natural gas, and electricity costs have come down substantially over the past couple weeks, and we’re now even enjoying sub-$4.00 fuel for our thirsty SUV’s.

Wind farms? Forget about it. Let’s use whatever space we’d waste on those for more residential condominiums!

CBS News reported that part of the reason costs are coming down is due to lower demand, and that we could expect this downswing to continue for the foreseeable future!

Analysts say right now, gas prices are on track to keep plummeting through the end of the summer. “We could see $3.70 in the city and if we get really lucky, maybe $3.50 by Labor Day.”

Do you think this is just a short-term “false hope?” Or will costs remain stable?
well, you so-called environmentalists never have any practical suggestions, much less entrepreneurialism, to get this wind-energy and other tree-hugger stuff off the ground! ..
How do you figure that?

The people who have been coming up with ideas for decades tinkering in their homes and garages aren’t environmentalists?

Anyone who’s been doing it for a while certainly wasn’t doing it for the windfall profits. Nice to think that soon they may be able to reap some rewards from it. It’s getting more popular, and without this oil crisis, chances are that this sort of thing has much wider appeal for people tired of the rising costs.

Back in the 80s US started to develop alternative fuel like synthetic gas/oil to ease foreign oil dependency. Once OPEC got wind of this they lowered oil prices so much the entire synthetic project went away. It’s a supply and demand game and OPEC will do everything to keep projects like wind and solar back to the drawing board.
