Train Problems due to weather

7/23/2008:
Been seeing reports of a horrible evening commute tonight:
Many New Jersey Transit lines are suspended due to “low power” issues.. Thus causing many folks to rush to PATH station for some reason…
From the NJT website:
- Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and MidTOWN DIRECT service is being restored with significant delays to all trains. MidTOWN DIRECT trains operating into and out of New York. All cross-honoring options remain available.
- NEC #3165,the 4:56pm, #3961, the 4:38pm and train #3963, the 5:03pm departure from New York is cancelled Due to Amtrak power supply problem,
- NEC #3723, the 4:34pm departure from New York Penn Station is cancelled due to Amtrak power supply problem.
Additionally, weather forecasters are saying there is some mesocyclonic rotation in several of the storms in the area… by no means a guaranteed tornado, but that conditions are ripe for one to form.

No wonder the PATH had twice as many people as usual on it.

Ahh…that would explain the clusterfu@k that was 33rd st around 5:15. There was easily more than twice the amount of people around that time.

For some reason? Maybe people needed to get home. There’s a train station in Hoboken. I dont understand that sentence.
