Actual Hoboken parking courtesy!

7/23/2008:

With all the bitching and moaning about parking and special treatment in the St. Ann’s Curiosities thread, here’s a quick Hoboken411 reader blurb that the HPA can do things right!

They called me before towing!

“On July 18th at 10:06 am I got a call from the Hoboken Parking Authority to move my care or else they would tow it because of St. Ann’s festival. I was parked on 7th and Madison right in front of Hoboken Catholic Academy

I think it’s admirable that they at least had the courtesy to call area residents to advise them that their spots would be gone for a week!

The Parking Utility has called to warn me to move my car asap for temporary construction signs or risk getting towed twice in the past few years. And this actually was a courtesy to the regular citizen. I was pleasantly surprised. And believe me, I have no connections whatsoever.

In the last 5 years that I lived in Hoboken, I have recieved numerous calls to move my car because it was parked in an area that was going to be closed due to some sort of fair… The only thing is that I didn’t own the car they were calling about…
