New Willow Ave. bus stop for 126 line

7/14/2008:

This spot near the 13th Street intersection has always had a “bus stop” sign, but now NJ Transit has formally made it an official stop for the evening 126 line that runs down Willow Ave:

I am a big fan of the NJT slogan at the bottom of the letter.

“…Knowing Why Makes the Difference”

Very G.I. Joe’esque.

At first, I believed you. Then I thought about it. The 126 from NYC to Hoboken via Willow stops on 15th (near the car wash), then stops on 11th (basketball courts of the school). Adding the stop at 13th finally eliminates the skipping of 4 streets in the past. I don’t recall it ever stopping at 13th in front of the drug store in the past. Do you?[/quote]

They are not supposed to stop in front of RiteAid or 13th street. Some drivers thought they are so they would stop at Rite Aid if the light is red. And if the light is green, he/she would stop at 13th, but not both. I remember NJ Transit even putting a letter on the 126 bus stating it’s NOT a stop. The letters would be posted on the backdoor. People who’ve been riding for a while knows it’s really the drivers being nice and making that stop. Glad it’s finally offical so there is no confusion

Yes, I can’t stand that! Then we always miss the damn light.

I’m really hoping they extend the Willow ave. service past 7:35. A couple weeks ago I was asked by a survey-taker whether I wanted the bus I was getting on to go down Washington or Willow. It was about 8:00 so the bus was going down Washington, but it appeared they’re at least considering running buses down Willow later into the evening.

Willow stops are every odd numbered street from NYC to Hoboken. 13th Street makes more sense than mixing it. Are you sure this stop isn’t replacing the even numbered street stops?
