Reader Rant: Hoboken is broken

7/14/2008:

Had this reader rant in my inbox for a week an a half… A bit of a rambling piece, but thought it might be fun:

hoboken-is-broken.jpg

Hoboken “management” is broken!

“I think, that is if I’m the king/mayor of Hoboken, I would be eager to bring in these auditors, to see how I let the corruption just got out of control, alcohol certification managers asking kickbacks , then getting fired and rehired and I’ve seen it recently freeholders handing out money to less fortunate people of Hoboken.

How is it that the same ignorant people are managing the voting offices every year, they should be recycled every election, I WOULD take a day off!

On a different note , the chief of police and the fire chief in PARIS are getting less pay than any of these officers in HOBOKEN.

HOBOKEN management is broken!

I had the hope, bringing in all this new construction (i.e. tax revenue) we would bring Hoboken into the 21st century! Hoboken could be the 6th borough and lose all tax problems, if we had a mayor like Beth Mason or me.

Anyway, STAND UP TO THE CORRUPTION and THE ENTITLEMENT SYSTEM OF THE COMMUNIST PUBLIC WORKERS OF HOBOKEN, WE AMERICANS Made RUSSIA GIVE UP!”

OMG. That was barely worthly of a rant comment let alone it’s own thread. WTF?

Such whiny, white noise self serving bullshit. Everything sucks, I know all the answers, I WOULD help but ya know—- busy that day.

You know when election day is, plan ahead, take the day off and volunteer to work at one of the locations. Not that hard to figure out. 🙄
Does anyone understand what language this is (from the City of Hoboken official website)??? This is what is wrong with Hoboken. Uneducated fools in City Hall. Yes, grammar matters. These people are dopes, and almost seem to take pride in it, puff their chests out, like, “I was born and raised here, attended such-and-such school.” Great, they taught you nothing.

“City of Hoboken residents that own a Hoboken Residential Parking permit have been requested by the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission (NJMVC) to remove their Permit Decal from the front of their windshield to the rear of their vehicles to balance the many important issues involving the public at large.”
It is called Newspeak (viz. George Orwell, 1984). The many important issues involving the public at large refers to the dead cats and rotten tomatoes that certain residents may have been tempted to bring to the next public gathering involving parking or automotive issues; this would be following those residents’ experience with aggravation and loss of time and money after they failed the state inspection because of following city rules.
