Semi-Good Deal Alert: 6/17/2008

6/17/2008:

Always one of my favorite places during the summer is the rooftop bar at City Bistro.

The half-priced happy hour is a pretty fair value until 8pm, although I forget whether it starts at 4 or 5pm. If you’re looking for a good drinking bargain, it’s good to get there early, if you’re looking to socialize, keep in mind that the crowd doesn’t pick up until later in the evening.

yeah the bistro roof can’t compete with the tat’s you get on the women over at that houlihan’s. yes sir. and that never ending parade of double-long buses from 5-8pm is a blast. sounds like the dubliner roof wouldn’t be your cup of tea.

AMH: My guesstimate would be from 20 somethings-60 somethings.

What is the average age of the crowd at City Bistro?

I guess I just expected more. I was there one night after it had stopped raining. The view isn’t what it used to be since new building constructions. It’s a cash only bar. The bar selection is not the same as inside. It’s basically standing room. I haven’t been there in a long time. I don’t know if they still have it,but the outside bar at Houlihan’s in Weehawken is great. That was my expectation of The City Bistro rooftop. I had always wanted to try The Dubliner formerly Gennaro’s rooftop. I live at the opposite end of town.

Why no love for the roof? While I also like the other floors as well, I don’t see any negitives for the roof on a nice day. I do happen to like the rooftop of the dubliner better though, but that might be only because they have TVs.
