Are any Hoboken Women “Drunkorexics?”

6/16/2008:

Saw this interesting video about women who, in their quest to “be thin,” plus increasing pressure to be social butterflies, often trade good nutrition for cocktail hour.

Do you know any Hoboken ladies that are “suffering” from this new “trendy affliction?” Are you one of them yourself?

Trading meals for martinis

It’s not an official eating disorder, but doctors say many young women under pressure to stay thin and be popular with friends are trading in healthy meals for alcohol.

“With extreme drunkorexia, we end up with people so badly nourished that their ability to function cognitively and emotionally is impaired.”
