OLG FunFest 2016
The OLG FunFest returns to Hoboken; Welcome Summer 2016!
Welcome summer on Saturday evening, June 4, and all day Sunday, June 5, at the 11th Annual OLG FunFest.
“Join us as we celebrate our parish families and welcome the entire Hoboken community,” said OLG Funfest Chairman Joel Branosky.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy a summer evening under the stars at the OLG NiteFest, Saturday night, from 6 to 10 p.m. DJ Tim Nelson will perform in a biergarten setting, as festival attendees can enjoy craft beers, sangria, a variety of foods, and games of chance.
The OLG FunFest continues Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with fun for the whole family. Children will be amazed with pony rides, face-painting, and bouncy houses. The whole family can join in the fun with festival games, a tricky tray, a used book sale, and a 50/50 raffle. Vendors will also be on hand, selling arts, crafts, jewelry and more. Refreshments, games of chance and music by DJ Nelson continue in the biergarten.
This year has three special events. WABC-TV Weatherman Jeff Smith makes a special appearance from noon to 1 p.m., signing autographs. OLG Music Director Vincent Rone, Ph.D. will be “pulling out all the stops” on the historic and majestic 1909 Wirsching Grand Organ for two concerts at 2 p.m and 4 p.m. Finally, a tour of the 1876 German Gothic Cathedral-style church guided by a long-time parishioner at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Both on the U.S. and NJ Register of Historic Places, the church features paintings and vessels gifted by Napoleon III as well as French and Italian royalty.
Admission to both the NiteFest and FunFest are free.
