Newell Brands sets New Global Headquarters in Hoboken

SJP Properties – which manages those big buildings along the Hoboken waterfront adjacent to Pier A Park – announced today that Newell Brands (a company that owns a LOT of brands you use) will establish their worldwide headquarters there in a nearly 100,000 square foot office.
Their decision wasn’t based on how great Hoboken is, but rather dollar signs. The New Jersey Economic Development Authority voted Friday to approve a 10-year, $27 million Grow New Jersey award to Newell to keep them in the state. How come people like us never get incentives?
This move brings 300 jobs to Hoboken, which is great! Because the city will need it after “mayor” don Zimmer chases about 500 jobs out of town as she decimates the SW section.
Anyway – here’s a huge list of brands they own besides Rubbermaid. Amazing how many you recognize but never knew the parent company!

“SJP Properties today announced that consumer goods company Newell Brands Inc. has signed a lease to establish its corporate headquarters at Waterfront Corporate Center III in Hoboken. The transaction brings the Class A office and retail building to full occupancy.
Newell Brands recently completed the combination of Newell Rubbermaid and Jarden Corporation, creating a $16 billion consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of leading brands. The new headquarters will serve as an important business hub for its executive team, select corporate functions and its Transformation Office, as well as a second hub for advanced design and expanded e-commerce activities.
The third and final building within SJP’s best-in-class, mixed-use business center, Waterfront Corporate Center III was developed by SJP Properties in partnership with USAA Real Estate Company, and recently achieved LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. CBRE Executive Vice Presidents Jeffrey Babikian and David Opper represented Newell Brands in the transaction.
