Parking: Blocked in

5/22/2008:
When it comes to parking, people get blocked in different ways. Usually it’s a double-parker that prevents you from leaving.
As mentioned already in the rant section today, here’s what happens when a person is so desperate to park that they squeeze so tightly in, that they make it impossible for you to leave. Parking douchebag!

In an unrelated note. Did you know that the iPhone saves photos as “photo.jpg?” It doesn’t add sequential numbers to the filename. That makes it a pain to save attachments, because they’re all the same filename. I have to create a new directory for each photo I receive.
Hoboken, parking, offenders

Devil Girl - I used to work in the next town over from Somerville, had similar hours and the commute wasn’t so bad. Sometimes only 45 min. I would suggest taking 78 to exit 33 and go back roads. 287 is ALWAYS backed up.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was pissed and if I had more time I would have called the cops to ticket and tow. Instead I had to do like 40 maneuvers to get out of the spot plus play bumper cars. My dad use to have a great sign years ago that he kept copies of in his car. It was something like “next time why don’t you leave me a fuckin can opener jackass” It had a picture and everything.

I was on the other side of this. I was the first person to park on the block (after street cleaning) and made sure, as I always do, to make maximum space for future parkers. Then Saturday morning a cop calls by and asks us to move our car b/c some guy is blocked in. How did this happen? Someone else parked illegally in front of us. Nonetheless, this guy had been waiting for the cop out in the cold for about an hour and nearly tried to hit me, even though it wasn’t my fault: The guy who parked illegally in front of me wasn’t home, I answered my door . . . Why didn’t the cops try the courteous way, and call the owner of the car? Perhaps they, like me, were not in the wrong.

obviously it sounds as if you did nothing wrong, so there can be only two possible explanations, right? some, if not many, hoboken cops feel compelled to act like pricks to compensate for their small - well, pricks - and/or their small brains. what else could it possibly be? - again we’ve pretty much established you did the courteous thing

If you have a garage, and there is a car blocking the driveway, can it be towed? Do you have to register the driveway with the town? Do you have to have no parking signs posted?
