So the Republican’s gathered last week, and now it’s the Democrats turn to drink and be merry. Tomorrow night at NINE (from 7 to 10pm).

Attached is the invitation to the First Annual Party Builder Awards, sponsored by the Hoboken Democratic Party.
- When: Tuesday May 20th, 7 to 10 PM
- Where: Nine Lounge (333 Washington St. Hoboken)
- Cost: $50.00 per person
This event is to recognize those that positively promote the Democratic Party, its values and its platform. Joe Cryan, Chair NJ Democratic Organization, Steve Lennox, Former President of Democrats 2000, and Juan Melli, Editor of Blue New Jersey, are this year’s honorees. The proceeds from this event will go to additional party building activities (i.e. website, newsletter, Young Democrats of America, etc.).
Steve Lennox, who is the only honoree I know personally, is being honored for his work with Democrats 2000, an organization dedicated to increasing the number of young adults and their participation in all levels of the Democratic Party. I have most recently had the pleasure of working with Steve on the Hillary Clinton campaign and now on the Lautenberg campaign. I am looking forward to honoring him and his accomplishments, and working with him in the future. I hope you will join me in honoring Steve, his accomplishments and contributions to the Democratic Party.

Glancing at the headline, I thought that the HDP was throwing a party for developers. (HDP 1st Annual Party – Builder Awards.) I rolled my eye and thought, it was just a matter of time. I was releaved to find out that I had misread the headline. Who says syntax doesn’t matter?

Going to the event? Might as well write your check to Team Roberts 2009.
In 2000, the Hoboken Regular Democratic Organization gave $3650 to the Gore/Lieberman campaign.
In 2000-1, the HRDO gave $220,000 to Anthony Russo and his non-partisan slates.
In 2004, the Hoboken Democratic Party gave $500 to the Kerry/Edwards campaign.
From 2001 through 2007, the HDP gave $590,000 to Dave Roberts and his non-partisan slates.
Democratic organization? Ha!
