Fire Fundraiser tonight at Kolo Klub in Hoboken

There will be a fundraiser tonight, Friday, February 19th, at Kolo Klub (15th & Grand Streets) to help victims of the recent fire on Washington Street.

Last Saturday, units from all over the region converged on a Hoboken fire that tore through apartments at 507 and 505 Washington Street, shutting down the city’s main (pothole-ridden) thoroughfare. The blaze appears to have originated in an apartment above the Verizon Wireless shop, before spreading to the roof and adjacent buildings.

Residents escaped the blaze, while 14 firefighters sustained injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to exhaustion and hypothermia—with temperatures near zero with frigid windchill well below zero at the time of the fire.

Tonight’s fundraiser, sponsored by Saints Peter & Paul Church, will feature food provided by Anthony Pino and live music by Liam Brown and Ross Sandler.
