Parking Dude does snow shoveling

Parking Dude helps Hoboken residents out of snowy spots

1/26/2016 update:

Seems like the Parking Dude App came through for many people in Hoboken after the blizzard, just a short time after the app was released.

“We have shoveled out over 100 cars parked in Hoboken through our app’s snow removal service. Residents are so pleased and relieved with our efforts as the city plows have buried their cars. We even had to shovel out parking spots that were empty with temp no parking signs so moving trucks could park and get new residents moved in. See some before and after pictures below.

We are still helping people out and fielding requests but would love some help to let people know we are here for them if they need it.”

Sincerely,

parking dude hobokenAs Hoboken “gets ready” to fuck up any snow cleanup for the potential snow event – here’s a reminder about the Parking Dude App we told you about last month.

In addition to “helping” you find parking, the Parking Dude App let’s you order car shoveling via your smartphone. Why get free exercise, when you can have a clean car with just a few taps?

App developer Andrew Impastato says: “The user must have downloaded the Parking Dude app on their iPhone. They will click on their current parking spot then click on snow removal service. They will be prompted to input their color of their car, make and model and hit confirm then send to send the request. Our team will respond via email to the user with a user agreement and a method of payment. Once the user secures payment and confirms receipt of agreement we will send our team to remove the snow from their car.

We do ask what time and day they will be in need of their car and require a 2 hour window prior to full fill the work.”

To download the App, you can click here:

(Note the service cost ranges from $25 – $90 per cleaning, depending on the severity of the snow, and how fast you need it cleaned. See complete pricing below!)

I was 1 of the 100, and they did a great job! I was sick on Sunday and needed to leave Monday morning for Boston. Learned about this servic from here just in time. Thank!

Hope the people I saw shoveling a driveway clear by dumping the snow on the hood of a car parked next to the driveway were not these guys. Or the guy I saw shoveling the snow from the street side of his car and tossing it across the street into the same spot of a car across the street. Completely inconsiderate.
This app simply moves what neighborhood kids used to do on snow days into a digital format. I used to shovel driveways on snow days but had to knock on 20 doors before finding someone who would pay. This hooks up people who are willing to pay with people who can’t or don’t want to shovel. Good app.

I’m on the fence here.

I appreciate someone that can find a niche and profit. That is the beauty of America.

On the flip side, I’m concerned that fending for yourself is a thing of the past. Tap, click and pay your way to comfort and ease.

What did those 100 customers do before? Suffer? Beg for help? Die?

People used to churn their own butter too. Would you have been upset with Eli Whitney in 1793 when he invented the Cotton Gin? One day the Parking Dude will be on the Mount Rushmore of innovators along side the Winklevoss twins.

You make a good point. But you have to draw the line with innovation somewhere, or no one will know how to do anything anymore without some assistance. Or be replaced by robots.
