Hoboken’s Margaret O’Brien on CNN

5/5/2008:

Margaret O’Brien is a Hoboken original.

The crossing guard at 11th and Washington is known for her knowledge of Hoboken history, appearances at city meetings and letters to local newspapers. If you know Margaret, you know she is not shy about sharing her views, and last Friday she went international with an appearance on CNN’s American Morning. Mrs. O’Brien was interviewed live about her support for Senator Hillary Clinton, and ended up in a crossfire with a senior citizen who supports Senator Barack Obama. It’s quite an exchange. Check it out!

Speaking of economics and people using credit to supplment their incomes….

Now that home’s can’t be tapped for cash (Mortgage Equity Withdrawal) people are turning to credit cards in larger numbers.

Speaking of being short of cash does Hoboken have a budget yet?

Agree with matt_72, we do pay lowest taxes on gas and no doubt public transportation in other states are bad. In the end people have to push government to search for alternative fuels and other resources and lower taxes no way people are going to do that. If gas taxes would have been raised like 10 years back this day would have been prolonged. Public transportation and alternative fuel issue would have been talked about before. It surprising that other countries talk about nuclear fuel option and have been pursuing that option for long but we hardly any research going on towards it or even mention it
