Holiday Crafts Fair 2015

Hoboken Holiday Crafts Fair – Dec. 5th & 6th

Hoboken Holiday Craft Fair 2015In case you’re looking for some “all at once” Christmas shopping option (other than the stupid mall), you might be interested in the Holiday Crafts Fair down at City Hall. Takes place this weekend.

While it’s a convenient way to get “hand crafted” items (always feels better to buy this stuff than mass-produced merchandise), most of these “artisans” are not from Hoboken. Sure, they’re “local” artists from the tri-state area, these kind of shows somehow remind me of traveling gypsies peddling their wares. For what it’s worth.

One vendor I found fascinating (Rachel Funcheon Vintage Map Art) – who is selling paper weights. Paper weights? Is there even a market for anything not related to cell phones?

There is a local business (Green Pear Cafe) that will be selling coffee, tea, carby sweets and sandwiches on the 2nd floor, however.

And you can get festive by singing along with the local 12023 Girl Scout Troop on Saturday from 3-4pm.

Have fun and spend wisely!

(PS – if you want to support Hoboken artisans – take a stroll over to either the Neumann Leathers building downtown or the Monroe Center on the west side…)
