What’s going on tonight?
Honestly, I didn’t plan any articles for today… so unless any breaking news happens, I’ll be spending most of my afternoon finishing up next weeks stories.
Did you know there’s an Event Calender on Hoboken411? It’s on the lower left sidebar of this site. Make sure you use it!
However, for those that didn’t realize it was there, here’s a little “reminder” of what’s happening tonight in town.
SATURDAY NIGHT IN HOBOKEN & VICINITY
We have a couple great auctions you can attend tonight.
- The Annual Stevens Cooperative School Auction
Tons of incredible items are up for bid, from luxury boxes to sporting events, Caribbean vacations, fine dining excursions and even parking spots in Hoboken! This is held near Exchange Place in Jersey City, and is easily accessible via the PATH. Cost is $129 and includes dinner, beer, wine and appetizers.
- The Great Hoboken Auction 2008
A more local event centered around the Hoboken Historical Museum. Also with interesting items up for grabs, such as sports tickets, paintings by local artists, pool memberships and my favorite, ancient relics from Hoboken’s past. The list is really long, so check it out. $10 entry. Held outdoors at the Shipyard park.
- Paws ‘n Shimmy at the Elks
Nope, not an auction, but an eclectic event featuring Middle Eastern Dance (belly dancers) which benefits local animal shelters. Full bar plus light appetizers. I’ll probably attend this event!
What about afterward?
If you’re not already overly tipsy at this point, you can check out some of these places later in the night. On your way back from Jersey City? Walk a couple blocks down to The Quays, (3rd & Sinatra) where they have a DJ and Saturday Night drink specials.
What about uptown? Stop by the latest Hoboken bar, The Hudson Tavern (14th & Hudson), and try a pint of Chimay or Arrogant Bastard beer. Or if it’s really late, go down to O’Nieals, where they have a late night Happy Hour and 1/2 price cheese quesadillas starting at Midnight.
Well, I’m back to work. Let’s see if I can pull this vacation off!
Have a great day!
