Has anyone other than me noticed that one of the Cupo signs is still leaning up against the telephone post right outside the PATH? Just sitting there, rusting. Why wouldn’t they have taken the signs with them?

What happened to Cupo??? I moved to hoboken in July… went through Cupo… charged me and my roommate 2 brokers fees (long story - but Grand Adams Apt Building Management gave our apt away, and yes, we had a signed lease). Anyhow, Cupo charged us another fee to replace our apt… I went to talk to them the other day to get my money back and low and behold they were closed!!!

Why did you wait so long to get your money back? You’ve got to jump on that right away if you have any hope of prying money from a real estate agent’s hands. Someone else can confirm, but I believe they have other locations outside of Hoboken–try that. I’ve successfully petitioned for a return of a broker’s fee when the apartment wasn’t what they told me it was (I used another real estate company in town to find my new apartment), so it can be done.
And Hoboken411 has the story as to what went down, but won’t put it in print. I’m itching to know what happened too.

That Cupo sign by the PATH is locked to a light pole which is city property. Even if they were still in business it’s OK to cut the sign off and toss it. Anyone have bolt cutters?

Ahhh…John Cupo owner….where do i start!!!! This low-life scumbag, lies, cheats, steals and sells people a load of shit and then runs and hides. Don’t know all of the specifics, but i do know that he borrowed a ton of money from just about everyone. owed a lot of money to all who worked for him not to mention vendors and such. When people started asking for money to get paid he would write out checks that would bounce left and right. or better yet give you the check and then stop payment!! he had no money and expected people to work for free, the sad part is that he had plenty investors giving him thousands of dollars!! after i guess about 3 months of this he all of a sudden just disappeared one day for 4 weeks!!! left the investors to take care of all of the problems. about 4 weeks later he showed back up and started hiding behind his dumb lawyer, the scared pu**y even changed his # cause he doesn’t have the balls to answer to the people who’s lives he’s screwed!!! and yes i’m one of them!!! sorry for ranting. thats all i have to say for now. thanx for reading.

Well I guess when people like John Cupo get into real estate, it’s time to get out of real estate. I bet he’s starting a gold exchange right about now.
