PATH and the Pope

4/17/2008:

In case you have a reason to head to downtown Manhattan on Sunday, you might want to note the following:

hoboken-pope-stops-path-train.jpg

“The PATH stations at Exchange Place Station in Jersey City and the World Trade Center Station will close from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday to accommodate Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to the World Trade Center site.

PATH customers traveling between New Jersey and Manhattan should use the Journal Square to 33rd Street via Hoboken PATH line and make New York City subway connections for Lower Manhattan. All other PATH service will operate on a normal Sunday schedule.”

They have to close the PATH so the Pope can go to the WTC, yet a homeless guy can find the plans for the WTC in a trash can.
