Zella Dance this weekend in Hoboken
Looking for some cultural things to do this weekend besides brain-numbing movies and alcohol? Check out Zella Dance at Stevens Institute on Saturday.
What is Zella Dance exactly?
“Zella Dance is a contemporary modern dance company based in Hoboken, NJ founded by artistic director Arielle Petruzzella.
Arielle has been choreographing and presenting her own work since 2006. Arielle graduated with honors with her BFA in Dance, and Bachelors in Communications from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University where she received the Margery J. Turner Award for sustained choreographic excellence, and where the origins of the company began. Arielle has been working closely with a select group of dancers since 2009 on various projects and performances throughout the tri-state area.
Zella Dance was officially founded in 2013 from the roots of this dedicate group of original dancers. Over the years the company has presented work at the Young Choreographers Festival, Dixon Place Under Exposed Series, NYC10, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Your Move: Jersey City, Grounds for Sculpture, Amalgamate Artist series, and the American College Dance Festival Gala, among others.”
