2015 Hoboken St. Ann’s Italian Festival

105th St. Ann’s Feast begins on July 22, 2015 in Hoboken

It’s that time of year again! This Wednesday, July 22nd marks the first of five days of Italian Festival fun on the west side of Hoboken (7th & Jefferson Streets).

Games, rides, food (like Zeppole’s), raffles, music and the very popular beer tent and “scented” Port-o-Johns.

Standard array of entertainment, food, and other things worthy of killing a few hours at the festival.

See below for schedule of performers.

(Note that all performers are expected to start around 8:15pm each day. Also note that the “procession” takes place all over the streets of Hoboken after the 11am mass on July 26th. It ties traffic up all over the place.)

Why does this solemn dedication need to occupy three square blocks for an entire week? The town has changed. 105 years ago, I’m sure parking was considerably less challenging.

Alice perhaps rational does. St. Ann’s parade is a solemn dedication. If you can not have respect for sectors of the community that allow you to share in their feasts then perhaps you can understand cultural principles. Historical preservation protects not only physical spaces and building but culture also.

Because something has been going on a long time doesn’t always make it wonderful. My car was apparently used a dinner table by several folks last night. I struggle to understand what the difference between this and the St. Pat’s parade is?

Nobody needs to move the hell out ‘showme” BUT the city IS ripping up streets all over the place and nothing NOTHING is being done to accommodate people who LIVE HERE who have NO WHERE TO PUT THEIR DAMNED CARS…. make the side streets free for residents while paving is going on? ANY IDEAS? SHARE THEM
HELP US somehow navigate what is surely the well intended smoothing of our rocky streets and the festival at the same time.

This long standing Hoboken tradition has been here longer than you and if you think it’s a “nightmare”, then I suggest that you move the hell out.
