Filthy Waterfront

What’s up with people? Do they like being filthy?

The waterfront areas are definitely one of the most popular spots in the summertime. People gather to enjoy the breezy river views, spend some time soaking in the iconic NYC skyline, or hang around for one of the entertainment events.

But apparently putting their refuse in a garbage can is too much to ask.

Drinks, bags, wrappers, bottles – everywhere you turned near Sinatra Park and Pier C Park. Sometimes just a few feet from one of those robotic trash cans, too. Oh, yeah, I forgot – those things don’t work too well either.

I thought the city employed a whole “sanitation department” to manage stuff like this. Oh well.

The employees are mostly all supervisors. The staff that did the work were laid off many years ago.

Why don’t they send the guy who doesn’t know how to fix the fountain sprinklers over to the park to clean up. Or does he need training on how to pick up trash?
