Moby: Last Night

4/1/2008:

I’ve always been a pretty big fan of Moby.

Today his latest album “Last Night” has been released. I sampled a few tracks, and happen to really dig his first single “Alice” a lot. Something about it is really trippy to me, and the video alone is just my style..

Anyone else a fan?

When Moby set out to create his new album, Last Night, he wanted to condense an eight-hour night out in New York City into one 65-minute album. This love letter to dance music in NYC captures the energy, eclecticism, and open-mindedness of the deejays, musicians, and club patrons in the city that never sleeps. Recorded at Moby’s home studio in Manhattan, the album features guests vocalists MC Grandmaster Caz on “I Love to Move in Here,” Sylvia Gordon from Kudu on “Last Night,” as well as UK MC Anynzli and the Nigeria-based 419 Squad on the first single, “Alice.”

Hope at least one of you enjoy this video the way I did. This way I have something in common with someone other than my dog.

I like a lot of his stuff, but that video didn’t do much for me. I actually went to youtube to see it, then I looked up his Grammy performance from a few years back that I really liked. I recommend.
Music meh, but goddamit if I ever have to listen to another interview with him again I’m gonna need a plexiglass curtain around me because I’m gonna go so postal at the sound of of his annoying voice…. give me fingernail on a chalk board.
My friends interviewed him last month for an internet show… They said he was a cool guy.
His music alone.. I could care less what he does outside the scene…

Anyone else find that video mesmerizing?
I dig most of his video. This one is particularly aggressive. It seems to validate contempt of others. I like that message. I think we need more of that. We need more contempt, hatred, disrespect and partisanship. Only until the whole shithouse goes up in flames will we be able to start from square one, with no Bushes, No Clintons, No Coulters, No Nadars, No Hannitys, No Obamas, etc.
