Opening day in New York!

3/31/2008:

Baseball season may have already started, but not in New York!

This Hoboken resident couldn’t me more excited about it. Although I’ll only probably have time to “Ctrl-Tab” between Firefox screens, it’ll be nice to see a live boxscore finally!

Today’s Yankees opener this afternoon (1:05pm) at the Stadium shouldn’t be rained out, and will pit Chien-Ming Wang against Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays. While the Mets and new ace Johan Santana opens up in balmy Miami against the Florida Marlins at 4:10pm. Today is a historic day in the Bronx, because it’s the last ever opening-day in the house that Ruth built.

Good luck to both teams, and may we see you in October!

anyone remember opening day a number of years ago when they played through snow? calling this game was a load of CRAP and the team should have been forced to give all the concession money back to the fans.
1996 Opening Day. Bernie played the entire game wearing a ski mask.
Ditto – had fun at Yankee Tavern though :P
yeah, but snow isn’t rain. rain is actually dangerous to players. not saying the game should have been called, but the two events are not related. it was light flurries. i was at the game.
