A few items of note for tonight’s meeting:

  • “Scope creep.” Almost every meeting has “outside contracts” getting more money than originally agreed to. How does that happen every time? Fix the problem, people!
  • More money being spent on that postage-stamp sized “park” which was promised to be six-acres, but will never amount to that. #fail.
  • A wrought iron fence for a “community garden” that costs almost $30 grand! Imagine how many vegetables that could have purchased?
  • And lastly – they plan to rename Observer Highway to “Ferry Street,” which will not change the fact that it will always be a traffic nightmare. Haha!

My kids went to the same school as mayor zimmerman’s kids when we lived in Hoboken and I got to know her fairly well. She was ok until she became involved in city politics. All of a sudden, many other mommies weren’t all that “interesting” anymore… she became unavailable and standoffish. Personal opinion only, but it’s what i experienced. I was astounded when you all elected her mayor.

I adore Hoboken: we moved there after 9/11 (our apartment was shut down for a year) and I miss it every day. What an awesome, edgy and exciting town.
