Regus – Office Space coming to Hoboken
Here’s what they say:
“Our Hoboken Riverfront business center at 221 River Street gives you work space on the Hudson River waterfront. You’re steps away from upscale amenities in this trendy area and 15 minutes from Manhattan’s Tech Alley. This center is a good fit for a wide range of businesses including tech companies.
The center’s work space gives you flexibility and helps you interact with other firms. Team rooms are available when you need them. Traditional office space is available if that better fits your needs. Our staff provides call forwarding and reception services for your business. You’ll spend your time and energy on your work.”
Why do people need office space anymore?
This got me thinking – why do people need temporary offices at all anymore? With laptops and cell phones – you can “do your business” pretty much anywhere, can’t you? People set up “temp offices” at every single coffee shop I walk into – so what advantage do you have having a fancy desk and a receptionist?
Apparently some of the selling points Regus uses to market their spaces is the fact that it is advantageous to work away from home – and that customers will “take you seriously” because you work in an office building (who the hell cares WHERE you work, as long as your “work” is good?) Anyway, it seems to be a big business nonetheless since Regus has over 3,000 locations world-wide!
