2008 MLB Baseball Poll

3/26/2008:

hoboken-mets-yankees-mlb-baseball-2008.jpgBaseball is essentially a year-long event, with almost more action in the off-season than during the regular season. But it’s time to dust off your mitts, and get ready for six solid months of box scores, injuries, controversies and more.

I’m a lifelong Yankees fan, and have suffered a pretty long World Series drought (for us at least.)

My prediction is that both the Mets and the Yankees will finish first in their respective divisions. I believe the press under-estimates the power of the Yanks lineup, and think (hope) the pitching rotation & bullpen surprise all the doubters. Of course I’m biased and have used zero scientific or statistical analysis in making such a prediction. Call it a hunch.

Here are a couple pretty decent articles from the Bleacher Report about the NL East and AL East to read as well.

What are your Mets/Yankees predictions?

Of course if you are a Phillies fan (or maybe you know one?), sign up for the Philadelphia Phillies Club of Hoboken:
http://groups.google.com/group/PPCH

We meet at Mulligan’s bar, once a week, with the schedule on the group page. $2 Yuengling & Bud Light pints / $10 buckets of Bud Light bottles.

It’s a small, but growing group of Phillies fans.

Go Phillies! Mets have the pitching, Phillies have the batting.
ummm, phillies have pretty decent batting too. last i checked, reyes and wright went in the top 5 of almost every fantasy league.
meant to say “mets have” not “phillies have”

the joke Santo Domingo Mets just completed the greatest collapse in the approximataly 140 year history of baseball and have the cajones to SAY that that could possibly allow them any notion of being the team to beat the next year.

i must not understand the concept of logic.
