Have you lost a tabby cat?

3/17/2008:

Losing a pet sucks, especially when it’s a pesky and sneaky kitty cat that mysteriously disappears.

A Hoboken411 reader wants to know if this tabby cat belongs to you!

“There’s been an orange and white tabby cat hanging out in our backyard since yesterday. We’ve been feeding it, and it doesn’t have a collar, but it looks to be in too good of shape to be a homeless stray. It keeps trying to get into our house, and it just looks so pitiful staring at us and shivering in the rain.

Could you post this in the hopes that it’s owners see it? We live on 6th and Park. I’ll check the comments section to see if anyone responds.

Thanks so much, and keep up the good work – I don’t know what we’d do without you providing us with the info that the town doesn’t want us to see!”

Maybe you could contact an animal rescue to take him if you don’t hear from the owner? I’d suggest finding local rescues through petfinder.com. They’ll probably charge you for taking him but it would be a nice thing to do & you’d know he wouldn’t be at risk of being put down at a shelter.
Why did a person with an unspayed female cat have to go to court? For kitty littering.

I’ll be here all week!
Just to set the record straight my wife and I saw the cat yesterday. We have two 16 year old cats and one is blind. Our one cat was already throwing a fit, so bringing the cat in was not an option. We did put out food and water (both of which were devoured) and set up a box, covered in plastic in case it rains and filled it with soft blankets where it spent the night. So, Friedupright and Potatochip, you may want to think twice before hurling sarcasm and insults without facts at people trying to help a lost pet.
You’re fine, don’t let the message board trolls get to you. What you did was very kind for the cat.

Thank you for taking care of the cat. I hope it’s merely lost and will be claimed soon.
