Useless parking meter trivia
Useless parking meter trivia in Hoboken NJ
Those economy-draining robotic pickpockets are bad in enough in Hoboken. Most visitors stand there and fiddle with the machines (most often putting in too much money). While I find the machines easy enough to use, the average idiot needs all the help they can get. And have you seen those useless “trivia facts” on the parking meters?
When the meter should have only the bare minimum “verbiage” on how to operate it – and absolutely NO clutter, the city decided to squeeze in the MOST useless “trivia” about Hoboken! (probably confusing dopey people that much more).
“Welcome to Hoboken – “The Mile Square City.” The Birthplace of Baseball, the Zipper, the first Steam Powered Ferry and much more!”
I bet the geniuses at City Hall said: “You know what? If we tell those idiot visitors coming to Hoboken that they’re in the birthplace of “The Zipper” – they’ll forget about the parking tickets and boots! Yeah!”
Earth to Hoboken: A happy historical message on a parking meter will NOT change the sentiment among those who you’ve robbed.
Conceived and launched in 2006, the original Hoboken Photo of the Day category contains thousands of pictures and includes many other subsections, including Drunk Bread Crumbs, HDR Photography, Hoboken Digital Art, and more.
We feel that by photo-documenting the city of Hoboken season after season, “a picture is worth 1000 words,” and can tell a myriad of stories encompassing the good, bad and the ugly contained within the mile-square. Our constantly-evolving way of maintaining a historical archive of memories and sights.
