Today’s Arthur C. Clarke
Arthur C. Clarke predicts future of technology – what next?
For those who haven’t seen this fascinating “prediction” author Arthur C. Clarke made over 40 years ago regarding the future of the “internet of things,” here you go. Spot on:
Who is today’s Arthur C. Clarke?
Sure it’s easy to go back through the archives to find out who was “right” a long time ago. I’d be interested to see some other predictions made by (then) respected scientists, authors and other noteworthy people – who got it way wrong.
However, I’m wondering who would be today’s “Arthur C. Clarke.” What predictions being made TODAY will be the ones that come to fruition in the future?
Because it’s my belief that most predictions being made (about the future) today – are to coerce others into manipulating change today (policy, investment, etc.)
Take a look at this interesting “future study” from DHL as an example. The first “scenario” they come up with was “climate change.” But some of their other scenarios were interesting, like with 3D printing and the need for major suppliers of “things” diminishing. I do think they left a lot of intangibles out of their five scenarios – mainly because they were using this video as a marketing technique to their existing customers and investors.
Even “TPTB” don’t know for sure what the future will bring. Since the entire “upper echelon” of influential people in society (the ones with the power, money, weapons and control) are psychopaths and sociopaths – I think it’s a safe bet to say “God only knows what our future 40 years from now will be,” so hang on tight for the ride!
