This was a very fun night. It was well attended and there where a lot of great prizes. I hope that they raised a lot of money. The only suggestion I would have is to make the eating area smaller and spread the gaming tables out a little more, navigating between a couple of them was difficult. A great event, can’t wait until the next one.
sure it would be okay if you donated the proceeds of the casino night in your apartment to charity. that is, as long as it’s not ‘the fund to buy morris more beer.'
Even if it’s contributing to my own private church???
I never understood how churches or synagogues justified having these kind of fund raisers. If I were to start one of these events in my apt I get arrested, but it’s OK morally and legally for a synagogue to do it. It’s really hypocritical.
I believe that any non-profit up to date with all the tax filing can apply for a fundraising permit for raffles, bingo, casino night, etc. There are lots of rules about what you can do, when cash can be involved, etc. And no one can be morally arrested, anyway, right?
