Did anyone actually go to the Chandelier Room this past weekend? I checked out Lobby Bar and their specialty drinks were 12-16 bucks…Def worth checking out for 1 drink, but not to spend a whole nite drinking there, unless mommy and daddy pay for your rent

But Biffy B is kinda cute when he tries to justify this all-nighter of an expense.

However, the rates are too high for me to benefit when extended family who doesn’t even like me calls the day before to let me know they’re crashing at my place for the weekend and I won’t even see them for all the parties and shopping of which they’ll take part. That said, I wish that a few small, affordable bread and breakfast B&B joints would open up around town. How nice would it be to refer the uninvited to these places?

I like hotel bars, but they are usually cost prohibitive… that is why when I decide to go I usually go to Bemelman’s at the Carlyle or the King Cole Bar at the St. Regis… old school pro’s mixing perfect drinks…

yes. i have been to the hoboken W twice. once for drinks and once for drinks and dinner. it is very similiar to the 2 W’s i have been to in NYC. this is their style and it’s exactly what i expected. more a concept than a reality. they never execute as promised. bad service is the norm. no bill can be too high. and if it were possible to morph the notion of “chic” into “tacky” these guys have captured it perfectly.
