It was nice, the bagpipers were all great, but when the ambulance corps started with their sirens (as part of the parade) I walked back into the bar - I hear enough of that crap all night every night, no need to watch it during the day. Reality: having the bars open at 11 instead of 9 just changed what time the 20 somethings were stupid drunk. It is downright dangerous to walk around town on parade day, with all the public pissing that went uncaught (really, how could you protect everyone's front yard with thousands of drunks wandering the town), open brawling and arrogant staggering. And the cops are just walking around blithely and hassling double parkers to show they're "doing something". Total disgrace, the parade is wonderful but the law enforcement just isn't there, the city should just admit they can't or won't control the drunks and cancel the whole affair before someone is seriously injured and everyone acts shocked and calls it "an isolated incident". Oh, that's right, too much money changes hands for anything civil to be done about it. What a shameful, avoidable black eye for Hoboken the whole after parade party scene is.
