What OPRA case are you referring to that had “no merits whatsoever”? Dittrich’s? He already filed suit and LOST in the Superior Court before going to the GRC and getting a contrary finding by that lower body.

It’s being discussed only b/c they’re considering supporting Roberts for Freeholder in June. If he were to win, he would resign as Mayor & the council would have to approve his replacement. That would be very interesting. Also, I d k if there would have to be a special election to fill the unexpired term or if that appointment lasts until the regularly scheduled mayoral / council at large election in May ‘09.

I don’t anticipate Roberts agreeing to run for Freeholder b/c if he loses that, he also weakens himself (even more) if he decides to run for re-election as mayor. I think he’ll let this opportunity pass & attempt to put himself in the best possible position for a (highly unlikely) third term as mayor. I would really like to see him run again, just to see him get crushed.

Ummm…. I may be wrong but, if Mayor Roberts resigned now or was removed from office the City Council would pick an interim Mayor until the election.

Based on recent votes that person would be Michael Russo.
That would also open Michael Russo’s seat to be filled by the Council.

I read in the Reporter, that the idea is already being dicussed by the Hudson County political bosses.

Why has Beth been so disparaged by the city attorney in the reporter? Its time folks to perform an immediate and permanent exit strategy for Roberts and his assholes from government. Can we get the impeach a mayor forms from Farina?

We were promised a long time ago that a Hoboken resident would never have to sue the city to get information again, unfortunately that councilperson was too noisy and he was voted out. Lets get behind Councilperson Mason and start a ruckus in city hall.
