Reader Mail: Elysian Park Characters
Today, we have a Hoboken411 reader who wants to let those of you that use Elysian Park to be aware of an incident that happened this week, just to be on the safe side.
“Just an FYI to anyone in and around Elysian Park. Last night, there were a group of very sketchy (and frankly scary) young guys milling around. They were staring at me and my aunt (we were in the dog run with my two small and very friendly dogs) and definitely looked like they were up to something.
Luckily, I knew my sister was going to be meeting us there in a minute or two with her two 100+ pound dogs and once they saw the dogs approach and come into the dog park, they left the dog run area and went to the opposite side of the park. Just to let people know to be very careful in that area. I’ve definitely never seen a group like that around and I bring my dogs to that park almost every single night after work and have never felt threatened or nervous, even when I’m there alone.”
I should point out though, that the Hoboken Police do multiple “detail checks” of this park and all others every day and night to ensure everything is on the up and up.
