Hoboken HPU Hypocrisy of the Day – August 15, 2014
Continuing the “HPU Hypocrisy of the Day” category….
Proper notice? Fugghedabout it. Courtesy for unsuspecting drivers? Screw that! Money for city coffers? Bring it on!
That must be the mentality of the Hoboken Parking Utility. Here’s what resident Dimitri had to say about something he witnessed right before last week’s moronic helicopter press conference at Pier A Park:
Last week there was a press conference at Pier A park with the presence of Senator Bob Menendez. I felt this was the only way of getting this out there for the people parked on Sinatra Drive. The press conference was set to start at 11am. Hoboken Parking Utility showed up to First and Sinatra Drive. A female walked from first to second street reading the license plates on the radio as a HPU officer hung up “No Parking” signs on trees and poles just minutes before the conference was set to start. The cars parked on Sinatra between First and Second didn’t have notice and they may have been ticketed and/or booted. The picture attached shows the signs hung up with the HPU officer in the foreground hanging up the others.”
Even if they towed the cars without booting or ticketing – it would still be wrong. These chumps couldn’t have a stupid media whoring session without inconveniencing others? Why not have the conference in “Mayor” Don Zimmer’s bedroom? I’m sure she wouldn’t appreciate the inconvenience of hiding what secrets that room holds. Haha!
If you were ticketed or towed – you might want to fight it…
Created out of need – this section features the blatant hypocrisy in the Hoboken city government. Get this – Parking “laws” were created under the guise that it is either for “safety of residents, drivers and pedestrians,” or to “make parking more fair for law abiding citizens.”
The city, however – VIOLATES those very same laws. The bottom line is THEY DON’T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT SAFETY. They just want your MONEY.
You frustrated with the hypocrisy? Caught them on film? Simply email Hoboken411@gmail.com with your photo, location and sorry story!
