Windy flurries

2/10/2008 Update:

Hoboken Police and Fire are standing by at Maxwell Place, ensuring pedestrians or motorists don’t walk or drive in the path of danger. I guess if Toll Brothers can’t “kill ’em in Hoboken” with their condo units, their scaffolding can “kill ’em” instead!

Also, more debris flying off the roof over at 800 Madison St.

2/10/2008:

Nothing much to be alarmed by, other than mini snow squall passing by.

However, if you were on 12th St. a few minutes ago, you were probably frightened by the scaffolding that became unsecured by the wind over at Maxwell Place!!

I live in the shipyard, and drive an SUV
So if you live in the Shipyard, where do you do all your sporting and utilizing?

SUV’s suck. Anyone who drives one without a legitimate need is a tool.
If you really want to know, I’m and engineer for a TV network in NYC and am on call 24/7. Not being able to get to work because there is a foot of snow on the ground is not an acceptable option.

Like it or not some people do have legitimate needs to have large vehicles, and/or vehicles with high ground clearance. And honestly I’m a tall guy and feel more comfortable in an SUV then most cars, I really don’t understand all the SUV hate that people have aroudn here. You people aren’t paying for the gas, I am.

Just because you people have nothing else going on in your lives that the biggest gripes of your day are driving around illegally parked cars doesn’t mean the forces of karma have the same priorities.

you all should try driving (or walking as a pedestrian) in Manhattan sometime; you’d all be in for a very ride awakening.
i’ve driven in nyc…even worse with the double parking is boston where i’ve also spent a few years. just because other cities are worse doesn’t mean i should suck it up and deal with it. god forbid you wait a minute to see if a spot becomes available, or (now this statement may SHOCK you) drive around the surrounding blocks for a spot. you may have to WALK a little, so difficult. the worst offenders are people with SUVs. i can gripe all i want — your selfish “me me me” attitude is what irks me. your coffee fix isn’t that important that you need to tie up the whole street.

ok, i’m done now. felt good to get that out! 😈
