The next Hoboken sinkhole?

Hoboken sinkhole forming on Sinatra Drive?

Hoboken sinkholes, collapsed roadways, death-trap piers – whatever you want to call them – are not uncommon here in the mile square city. And it appears that one may be “forming” as we speak.

A section of roadway outside Crunch Fitness on Sinatra Drive between 1st & 2nd Streets apparently “sunk” quite significantly in recent days, giving an almost “ramp-like” feeling when traversing over it.

In other words – if you value your vehicle (and safety), you might want to take this into consideration. On the other hand, the “litigious types” will yearn to drive over this repeatedly until they have an “offense worthy of lawsuit…”

I actually work in the building that Crunch is the tenant in (BTW its not the Wiley building its called WCC1, Wiley is just a tenant like crunch). The street has been sinking for the past 7 years that i have been there.

I’ll bet the builder substituted inferior materials and maybe even inferior labor from what the original plans called for. The cost savings was pocketed and later spent on overly ostentatious homes complete with tacky statues, foil wallpaper in the bathrooms, and furniture from Ashley.
