Clinton St. Fire displaces families in Hoboken

Oh brother. Another fire in that building across the street from Columbus Park, which started around 6pm this evening.

This building has a history with fires, and almost the entire block once burnt down!

The last “major” fire took place back in March of 2012.

What do you think the deal is? Shoddy building construction? Or just careless tenants?

I live in 917 Clinton and was there for the last apartment fire. Word in the apartment is the fire was started by a notorious tenant who happens to smoke and cook crack in her apartment. The other word on the street is she’s been blowing some brothers for rocks.

I remember the BIG FIRE in the late 1990s. Seems some nitwit placed a LIT CANDLE near drapes. When things got ignited, the same NITWIT left her front door open when fleeing “to help the firemen get in.” This miscalculation was responsible for the fire spreading beyond one unit.

The building was up to code, from what I remember. It just wasn’t nitwit proof.

Is this not all “Applied” housing? If so – burn ’em out and let folks who can pay a proper market rate for rent live in said area. Better yet, build some luxury condos to meet the demand that is there.

No coincidence these types of fires are always starting in the section-8 housing – not in Hudson Tea or Maxwell Place. Draw your own conclusions…

The only conclusion I’ve drawn from your response is that you’re fucked up, and that’s putting it mildly.[quote comment=”223377″]Is this not all “Applied” housing? Sunny, consider that the condo building on Washington that burned down and had to be demolished was all owner occupied.

Fires started by landlords, to burn out tenants are criminal. [quote comment=”223377″]Is this not all “Applied” housing?
