Refreshingly creative, professional, and ambitious, this production smashed all High School Theatre clichés! My life has been changed forever! Our small audience was treated to a most superlative show in all regards and the only thing wrong with my experience was the disappointing number of empty seats in the house. At the end of the show we popped out of our seats like never before, eager to offer a well deserved standing ovation. Like a jolt of adrenaline for the senses, this show ROCKED! This innovative theatre program MUST be respected and cherished. Because the school board elections are tomorrow I want to acknowledge the board members who attended the play and support the program: Caramelo Garcia, Frances Rhodes-Kearns, Frank “Pupie” Raia and Rose Marie Markle. Congratulations to the HHS Theatre Department and I can’t wait to see you next year!!!!!!

My son and I attended the Saturday matinee. The production was absolutely amazing. My son saw it with his 5th grade class and told me he wanted to see it again. Isamar Arias was an absolute star! Props to all the talented students who participated. Paula Ohaus, Jared Ramos, and the rest of the production crew really triumphed. 😀

This was an impressive production that demanded a lot from the cast and from the audience as well. Congratulations to the people involved that took the risk to put together something truly different from the standard musical theatre stuff. There are a lot of naysayers on this board regarding the public schools; I say we should encourage the people that are working hard to put together great projects like this one.

The English version adapted by Mary Zimmerman from Robert Fitzgerald’s translation is great. I am working on this production and all bias aside, this is one fantastic show. I know that tomorrow will be a rainy one, so if you want to see something that will blow you away, come to the Odyssey on Saturday: shows at 2pm and 7:30pm. You won’t regret it.
