In case anyone is wondering what the “243″ stands for, it’s Seth’s pledge number at his fraternity “Phi Delt.” The number meant a lot to him, and he used it very often. So the family thought it was an ideal name for the foundation in his name.
2/2/2008:
The family of Seth Dembowitz, the man who died in Tuesday’s fire at 1203 Washington Street, has established The 243 Foundation in his honor. The 243 Foundation is a charitable fund to promote fire safety and awareness.

I lived in the building and wound up walking around with his roommate trying to find Seth that night. The roommate wasn’t home at the time of the fire and was desperately trying to find him that night as he was worried.
Unless, there was a 3rd roommate you can lay this put this conspiracy theory out to pasture. It’s cruel and untrue.
