Fire victims reach out for help
I received an email, plus a Hoboken411 reader posted this entry that a well-liked mother of three that could use your help. She was one of the many victims in yesterdays fire at 1203 Washington St. You can email here at: firstname.lastname@example.org or drop the goods off at Emanuel’s Salon at 89 Washington Street.
“There was a fire in Hoboken last night and a mom of a little girl in my class lost everything.
She has three children altogether and cares for them on a very small income.
Though she is grateful they are all alive, the kids, of course, are upset at losing all of their belongings and their home.
With some prodding, this is what I got her to tell me about what the kids might need if anyone has anything they no longer use and would like to donate.
6 year old girl. She wears size 8-10 clothing. Her shoe size is anywhere from 13 to 1 1/2. She loves Dora and stuffed animals and reading books.
10 year old boy. He wears sized 14-16 clothing. His shoe size is 6. He loves wrestling action figures and army figures and his MP3 player.
16 year old teenager. He wears jeans size 36 or 38 and length 32 and collared shirts to high school in size 2X. (I think these are more like golf shirts with long sleeves? But maybe when the weather is nicer golf shirts would be fine too?) He wears size 12 sneakers and shoes. He loves his Ipod and whatever else 16 year-old boys love.
The mother wears size 16 jeans or pants and extra large tops. Her shoe size is nine.
She is kind and humble and I know she would never ask for herself so I am giving her needs a voice.
Believe me all of your donations will be greatly appreciated.
