Skyline blockage in Hoboken
Bummer – NYC Skyline blockage in full effect
Not too long ago, when driving into Hoboken from the SW side of town at night, you used to “get a glimpse” that our big-brother New York City was right beyond the edge of your view.
But now with that Pearson Education building down by Pier A Park filling in… it appears our own skyline has drowned out the big apple. Although you can still sort of see the lights, it was kind of exciting to “feel the vibe.”
Now you have to go down to the edge of the waterfront pretty much (which isn’t filled with such good vibes – not lately at least…)
But I have to say, the NYC Skyline isn’t as big a deal as it used to. Star-gazing (like we did last weekend) is much more fulfilling (which is next to impossible so close to the city). All about perspectives, I guess!
Conceived and launched in 2006, the original Hoboken Photo of the Day category contains thousands of pictures and includes many other subsections, including Drunk Bread Crumbs, HDR Photography, Hoboken Digital Art, and more.
We feel that by photo-documenting the city of Hoboken season after season, “a picture is worth 1000 words,” and can tell a myriad of stories encompassing the good, bad and the ugly contained within the mile-square. Our constantly-evolving way of maintaining a historical archive of memories and sights.
