Reader Mail: Brown rice sushi

1/28/2008:

Attn: Sushi aficionados.

I don’t eat sushi often enough in Hoboken to answer this reader’s question, so here you go. This could be as simple as calling each place, but you never know what results you’ll get. Anyone? While were at it, throw your recommendations out there too.

“Does anyone know what places in Hoboken (hopefully ones that do not resemble a club with extremely loud music – i.e., Sushi Lounge) have brown rice sushi? Sushi House does — but anyone else? Do you know?”

#7 the Sushi Lounge vibe you like so much = numbing blue glow from flat screen televisions, where everyone stares up expressionless with their mouths open and no one talks to each other!

Fresh maybe, but you may want to read an article about recent tests done by the New York Times on the mercury levels of our sushi. Of course there is so much commerce involved, i doubt any action will be taken. Again, this is research done by the New York Times, not the tabloid like Post or Daily News. Here’s the link.

Garden of Eden sells brown rice sushi. It’s not bad and it’s always there for a quick pick up on your way home.
