Hoboken411: Eight Year Anniversary

Yep, still here: Hoboken411 turns eight today

Hoboken411 8th AnniversaryJeez Louise. Another frickin’ year gone by? I forgot about this until I looked at the calendar yesterday. “Whoa! Hoboken411.com turns eight on Friday!”

It would be irresponsible if some kind of “mark” wasn’t made.

Anyway, no need to repeat the “Top 10 Lessons Learned” (you can read last years anniversary post for that!) they’re essentially still the same. Not much to add, really – because solid “life lessons” usually remain quite consistent over time.

But man, come to think of it, it’s pretty amazing to me – because I got sick of every “job” I’ve ever had in the past – whether it had a high salary or not. The corporate “BS” that exists in any hierarchical structure should not be sustainable long-term for any sensible human being (unless you’re at the top). Which is primarily the reason I could hold on to this “job” with relative ease. If you can stomach the uncertainty of having your own “small business,” then good God, please do it today… Don’t wait!

Keep in mind you need one or more of the following in order to succeed in business (and be happy): Love for what you do, skills (and/or the desire to learn), and a little bit of luck and good timing.

In the end – you have to ask yourself what you do with your “time” in this world. Do you want to work for someone else? What do you do with the money other than accumulate things, and debt? What is freedom? Do you sleep well at night? Or worry? Do you dread Mondays and look forward to Fridays?

OK, I’m done. Have a nice day and weekend ahead!

It is refreshing to know there are those that remind you that the pink elephants are real despite what the City administration paints.
