i guess this means another law suit against the city, what else is new with these residents....
You mean what else is new with city hall, I think.

In November 2004, Hoboken voters overwhelmingly approved the pay-to-play ordinance. The ordinance prohibits certain business entities with no-bid contracts from making campaign contributions to local candidates or officials.

In the spring of 2005, a number of no-bid contractors make contributions to Roberts Team 2005, in apparent violation of the new ordinance.

The city takes no action to enforce the ordinance.

Citizens must sue to compel city to enforce ordinance.

Hudson County Superior Court says citizens do not possess right (standing) to sue government.

NJ Appellate Court reverses lower court, says yes they can.

Such legal wrangling is not the fault of citizens, but of a city government that again and again opposes the will of its citizens.

Well, if the city started operating like a public entity and abiding by the rules, I don't think we'd have any of these lawsuits that continue to pop up and cost us all money in taxes...
It's like being screwed twice by our city government - first they try to hide their actions and funnel our tax dollars into their pockets, second they spend more tax dollars fighting these lawsuits that are brought to get them to follow the rules in the first place!!! argh..

They should not have to sue the city for public documents. I only wish I could get one of the Hoboken City cell phones.

Guess our local Hudson Country politicos will now have to appeal to a higher power.
As in maybe start a collection among the Chinese waiters and waitresses aka Hillary.
Getting the real cash with the ChiComs won't happen. Hillary ain't sharing. :P
